Responsible Sourcing

Responsible Sourcing

FSC™ Certification

Paperboard derived from forests represents approximately 70% of the raw material of a carton, and Greatview has pioneered the sourcing of the wood we use from responsibly managed forests.

All Greatview factories are certified with Chain of Custody certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and other major forest management certification systems.

In Europe, 100% of the cartons produced in the factory in Halle, Germany are made with FSC™ Certified paperboard, making the site a leader in Europe in responsible sourcing.

RSB® Certification

Another raw material component of an aseptic beverage carton is polymer. Greatview’s packaging material plant in Halle, Germany is certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) to use tall oil based bio-attributed polymers in the packaging coating under a mass balance system.

Find out more!

Calculation of the renewable, plant-based content of Greatview Aseptic cartons is based on the mass proportion of plant-based inputs in the production process using a mass-balance system. These sources consist of wood fibres used for paperboard, tall oil used for bio-attributed polymers in the coating under a mass balance system certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), and in certain cases closures made from biopolymers.

Our company encourages and supports all customers using paperboard from FSC™ certified forests or RSB® certified bio-attributed polymers to label their products to communicate their environmental responsibility to consumers.
